Regarding the Free Version’s Installer Ads

November 5, 2015 by admin

The Free Version installer is ads-supported. Currently we partner with ads networks such as OpenCandy to provide the ads. We understand that some of users do not like installer ads, hence we have provided notices of such ads across our Download page. With the above being said, most users do not care such ads and promoted software bundles.

The Premium version has NO ads.

If you do not like installer ads, please download Premium version only and if you want to continue using it, purchase its Activation Key from our Store. This is the best way to support YouWave!

Have a good day!

January 28, 2014 by admin

You can use YouWave Home version together with Charles Web Debugging Proxy to analyze networking packets in your app of interest or YouWave’s internal browser. Follow these simple steps:

1. Add an HTTP proxy in Charles: Menu Proxy->Proxy Settings…  Enter Http Proxy Port number. The default is 8888.

2. In YouWave Home version, enable Proxy server: Settings->Proxy setting. Enter proxy hostname: 10.0.2.2 and port number same as the port number in Step 1 (8888 in default). Note: 10.0.2.2 is the local host IP address from Android’s point of view.

Version Home 4.1.0 is released

March 6, 2013 by admin

Note: (updated July 21, 2013) We had a version number change because some users confused our 4.x.x version with Android OS version, so YouWave version 4.x.x became version 1.x.x and was much earlier than version 3.x.

Home 4.1.0 has the following features:

  • Internet connection through proxy network is supported. Open Settings to set the proxy IP address and port number.
  • Added Android Factory Reset. Upon reset, the Android starts over with fresh SD card.

In memory of the victims of Sandy Hook

December 20, 2012 by admin

Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

ICS version (Home 4.0.0) is released

December 11, 2012 by admin

On December 9, we released Home Version 4.0.0 which is an Android ICS version. We decided to add this as a separate product.

It has been a long way. Thank you for all your support.

In your Gallery, you will see pictures in your C:\users\Public directory. You can copy your pictures to that directory and send them out through sharing apps such as WhatsApp.

To copy out the pictures and videos that other people sent to you, use the “Open Manager” app, explore to /sdcard/whatsapps and your files are in one of the sub-directories. Copy a file and paste it in /sdcard/c directory. The file will be actually copied to your C:\users\Public in your hard drive.

To copy a file in “Open Manager”, long click the file, then click “copy” at the top. To paste a file into /sdcard/c, go to /sdcard/ then long click “c” directory, then click the “…” at the upper right corner, choose “paste”. Now you have copied the file to your C:\users\Public directory.

To open “Open Manager”, follow these steps: Click the middle (app) button on your home screen. Flick (Drag) the screen to the left with your mouse (just like you would do on a touchscreen with your finger). “Open Manager” is here

Oops. Too much traffic so Dropbox disabled YouWave’s download link on Dropbox.

October 19, 2012 by admin

To offload the download traffic on our site, yesterday we tentatively loaded YouWave software to Dropbox and hoped Dropbox’s massive servers can easily handle our traffic.

After more than 10 hours, the download link is disabled. This message is shown:

Any suggestions on how we can handle the increasingly large traffic?
