YouWave doesn't support Arabic writing, you can only do that by downloading a arabic keyboard.
You can only click the arabic buttons to type Arabic, but your keyboard won't type in Arabic

For Arabic reading, you could TRY:
- Go to home screen
- Click Menu > Settings
- (Scroll Down) Language & Keyboard
- Select Language

YouWave is currently working on the language support problem... Report back if you can at least read Arabic...

YouWave has currently released a version with Arabic language support... Because of the high demand.
Please test the latest version, if any problems occur report back on this forumpage...

I am not part of the developper team, but they've included a Arabic keyboard.
I've tested it myself and I've observed:
- loose letters
- keyboard is still typing from left-to-right

I cant read Arabic but, I think sentences aren't displayed from left-to-right?
Can you confirm my observations?

OK. Got it. Arabic should be right to left. And the letters are connected, right?

Is it possible or impossible to read Arabic from left to right?

I believe YouWave is showing isolated or general letters (A.K.A. loose letters).

The Arabic language also contains final-medial-initial forms for each letter (These show up as connected)
meaning the same letter can have different forms depending on its position in the word. last, middle or first letter of the word

Here are some examples of what I mean:

List of Arabic characters in unicode:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arabic_characters_in_Unicode

UPDATE: reading the wikipage I believe general form is used for alphabetical purpose & isolated form is used for loose letters in sentences.
YouWave is probably using the general form???

What does ICS stand for? May I also ask what Coding Language YouWave is written in?
Maybe I'm able to help you guys out. by writing a function/method.
That could be incoorperated in something like a Type event.. because the characters would have to change dynamically (while typing).

I also found a source code, that might be usefull...

ICS stands for Android's 4.0 release Ice Cream Sandwich.

Let's take the rest of the discussion offline and discuss through emails.

Our ICS should already have Arabic support. What blocks you from writing in Arabic is the physical keyboard layout, or you need the soft Android keyboard?
